Former NFL tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins was arrested Friday in Washington.

Per court records obtained by TMZ Sports, Seferian-Jenkins was booked on charges of misdemeanor assault/domestic violence and felony harassment threats/domestic violence or death threats.

Additional details about Seferian-Jenkins' arrest have not yet been made public. The 29-year-old is still in custody after being booked around 9 p.m. local time on Friday night. His bail hasn't been set.

Seferian-Jenkins was most recently with the New England Patriots on a one-year deal in 2019.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Seferian-Jenkins wanted to "step away for a month for personal reasons" in June 2019 and the Patriots released him to give him time to work "through that process."

This is at least the fourth time Seferian-Jenkins has been arrested since 2013. He was previously arrested three times on suspicion of DUI, most recently in March 2020.

TMZ reported in December that Seferian-Jenkins cut a plea deal from the March arrest that would drop his charges after five years as long as he stayed out of trouble, completed a two-year outpatient treatment program, attended a victim impact panel and pay legal fees.

After Friday's arrest, TMZ noted prosecutors could pursue charges from that 2020 DUI along with the new charges he is facing.

Seferian-Jenkins was a second-round draft pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2014. He spent three seasons with the team before being traded to the New York Jets in October 2016. The Washington alum also played for the Jacksonville Jaguars during the 2018 season.
